It sits solid on the back and adjustment straps sit in place (you don't need a sternum strap), something I've had problem with on a Norröna pack where the straps were too smooth and would glide through the buckles and I'd have to readjust and tightening it fairly frequently

and an adjustable chest strap provide a comfortable carry
