Japanese Type 19 Cavalry Officer’s Saber (Kyū-guntō) Ray Skin Hilt Meiji c1886 Sword LS109 Funadansu Note some minor nicks toEarly Type 19 transitional Japanese Army officers ky gunt (company grade), Meiji 1922 (1886c. 1888 89). A scarce, short run variant produced immediately after the Army Uniform Regulations of 6 July 1886, this sabre bridges the earlier Type 8 and the standardized Type 19.
