(New York – New York) A New Yorker’s Idea of the United States calabria Catches Europe at a time(New York New York) A New Yorkers Idea of the United States of America It seems like a common, comic approach today, but this map by Wallingford is one that helped start the whole genre of whimsical perspectival maps. Beginning as early as the late 1920's he hit on a funny style that caught on quickly.
