ホンマタカシは、トーベ・ヤンソンとトゥーリッキ・ピエティラのクルーヴハルでの暮らしをドキュメントした映画『ハル、孤独の島』に感銘を受け、2016年にその島で撮影した写真をまとめた写真集『A song for windows』（LIBRARYMAN）を刊行しています。その際もコーディネーションを務めた森下圭子とともに、今年9月にフィンランドの群島を再訪し、そこに生息するキノコや自然の姿を捉えました。本書には、ホンマが新たに撮り下ろしたそれらの写真と共に、森下が自身の群島での経験や、遊び心と冒険心溢れる島の人々の暮らしについて執筆したエッセイを収録しています。ポスター付。
