(West - Oregon Territory) (America Descripto...) - N. America -U.S. done in a pictorial style(Americae Descripto Nova) A great front page newspaper map that deals with the wranglings with the British over the Oregon territory. The small abstract of Heylin's map (1666) on the front page shows the island of California, which is shown to hold Nova Albion. The British used this as part of the argument to claim on the Oregon Territory since Sir Francis Drake indeed claimed the region long ago, in his circumnavigation of the globe in 1576, thus,
