菱文様の中に花のシルエットのような柄を入れこんだ小紋。 抽象的で異国感も漂う珍しい柄です。 菱文様は縄文時代から存在する非常に古い文様で、ヒシという植物の葉や実の形を模したものともいわれます。 ヒシは繁殖力が強いことから、「子孫繁栄」「無病息災」などの意味を持ちます。
ヱ霞は「エ」の文字のような形の霞を断続的に描いた文様で、途切れることのない柄であることから「永遠」の意味を持ちます。
