菊文様は皇族の紋に定められていることから「高貴」「高尚」などの象徴とされ、菊そのものは薬として使用されてきたことから「厄除け」「長寿」の意味も持っています。
茶屋辻文様の中には梅や菖蒲などが描かれており、梅はまだ寒い時期に最初に咲く花であることから「忍耐」、菖蒲は「勝負」と同じ音であることから「勝利」を意味する文様です。
赤の地に対い蝶（むかいちょう）文様をあらわした小紋をアロハシャツに。
