I was delighted to find these two portraits tucked away in a country saleroom during the first lockdown for something of a steal

recently reframed it is the very definition of ‘fresh to the market’

His ink illustrations seemed to be carved out of stone and there was a tremendous strength and gravity to it all

a Malvern based artist he presumably became friendly with Thesiger through his association with the Malvern Literary Festival

I’ll miss it if it goes
