Constructed of cupal, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a central Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but consistent with a design tentatively credited to Funcke & Brninghaus, Ldenscheid, measuring 42. 55 mm (w) x 53. 87 mm (h),
