Turkey, Ottoman Empire. An Order of the Medijidie, III Class Commander, in Gold, c.1880 Auction emboss stamped "4"(Mecidi Nisani). Instituted late 1851. Civil Division. In silver, a seven point star with clusters of five faceted rays, a crescent moon and star separating each cluster, the center medallion in Gold features the Sultan Abdul Meijids royal cypher surrounded by a Turkish inscription within burgundy enamels, each surrounded inscription on an individual Gold and red enamelled banner, the reverse plain, suspended from a swivel red enamelled crescent moon
