Instituted 30 January 1934 by Duke Carl Eduard of Saxe Coburg and Gotha. (1934 1937 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, consisting of a Geneva Cross with white enameled arms, the obverse overlaid by a central black enameled DRK style German national eagle, in turn bearing a DRK insignia, the twelve oclock arm with an integral loop and suspension ring connecting to a period original
