Germany, Heer. A Kuban Shield Archive anniversary dates 1859 and 1909(Kubanschild). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by an inscription of KUBAN and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of 1943, affixed to a magnetic metal backplate with a field grey wool liner and partially intact reverse paper liner, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 78 mm (w) x 61. 70 mm (h), surface oxidation and loss of finish is visible
