The scene a decade prior helped establish some of the most important American bands of the latter half of the 20th century, like The Ramones and Blondie. The NYHC scene then helped solidify the importance of CBGBs for a new scene and new generation. So by the time the 1990s rolled around, there was a lot of history wrapped up in the venue, but it
