Cirò is an important region on Italy’s southern coast that has been making wine from the local red Gaglioppo and white from Guardavalle – locally called Greco Bianco di Cirò but notably not Calabria’s other popular white grape called Greco Bianco

Throughout the middle ages

and Bordeaux became a particular favorite

this late ripening grapevine gives Damiano and Letizia grapes with reliably complex flavors at relatively modest alcohol levels

but it’s particularly good with roast chicken or something featuring paneer cheese
