completing in a functional nickel-plated metal spring clip
with the Royal crown above
Italy, Kingdom. A Medal For Military Valour For Native Soldiers, C.1937 Newly Listed Third Class KnightType II (Victor Emanuele III): Bronze, engraved "M. GIBATTI 17 NOV. 1937 XVI MANGASCIA UOLDEGHERGHIS ALLA MEMORIA" on the reverse, 33. 5 mm, on contemporary ribbon, toned, very light contact, extremely fine. Footnote: Research suggests that the recipient may have been an Askari soldier in the XVI Adi Caieh Native Battalion of the Italian Colonial "1st Eritrean (Native) Division".
