The band was formed out of an anarchist commune and had a radical leftist political ideology at the forefront of the band. Their lyrics were of course politically charged, singing about power, animal rights, feminism, anti fascism, and more, but also the way they ran the band was just as political. They participated in direct action throughout London, put out their own records,
