He began playing in 1969 and has been active ever since, releasing over 25 albums. He originally signed with the iconic label Studio One but eventually found his way to Island, a larger label. In 1980, though Burning Spear created his own production company, simply titled Burning Music Productions. He signed to various other labels during this time but delivered the records through his production
