and it sometimes went by the name of Chrysanthemum Rhyolite due to resemblance to the flower

This slab has been cut thin to give it the see through effect between pattern

This stone is mined in Mexico and works into some beautiful cabochons. It tends to slab nicely and is often reasonably solid, with only the occasional rare fracture.
