Instituted 1 May 1939. (1939 1944 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a vaulted Geneva Cross with white enameled arms, overlaid by a German national eagle executed in black enamels with gilt feathering and highlights, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 51. 66 mm (w) x 51. 66 mm
