This as yet unassuming village is only a Cotes du Rhone for now, but we suspect its only a matter of time before it gains an appellation title all its own to match Gigondas and Vaqueyras, the two villages immediately to the south. For now, Sablet remains the best value available in the Rhone Valley. The wines here are dependably savory,
