Germany, Third Reich. A Volunteer Firefighter Officer’s Visored Field Cap GTRexclude surrounded by the inscription GUERRE(Einheitsfeldmtze fr einen Offizier der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr). An extremely well preserved Volunteer Firefighter Officers visored field cap, constructed of dark navy blue wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold down side panels, scalloped toward the front, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panels are rolled up and secured in place at the front with two pebbled and black painted buttons which emanate
