In silver, the obverse features a right facing bust of Franz Joseph in uniform, encircled by the inscription . . . . . . . . ., the reverse bears the central inscription .. i 1848 1898. surrounded by a laurel and oak leaf wreath, measures 33. 2mm (w) x 36. 4mm (h), weighs 16. 4 grams, worn on a replacement ribbon.
