Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a circular chain link wreath, surrounding a central blockade runner cutting through waves, with its bow overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a block hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, designer marked OTTO PLACZEK, BERLIN and maker marked SCHWERIN, BERLIN, measuring 48.
