Japan, Empire. A Kempeitai Japanese Military Police Badge, c.1940 Newly Listed France on February 11(, Kempeitai). In silver with enamels, this 5 pointed star shaped badge bears the Japanese characters for Kempeitai encircled by the English phrase Japanese Military Police on the reverse. It measures at 53. 8mm (w) x 52. 6mm (h), weighs 36. 1 grams, and is on its silk tri coloured period ribbon. There is minor enamel loss on the obverse, but is otherwise in extremely fine condition.
