A rare Stirnpanzer (forehead armour), constructed of magnetic iron with a curvature fitted to the M1916, M1917, and M1918 Stahlhelme, retaining some of its original slate grey paint, flanked on each side by mounting brackets to accommodate an underlying helmets lugs, with additional eyelets for the use of a strap, unmarked, measuring 24 cm (w) x 19 cm (h), demonstrating a large and irregular chip to the upper edge consistent with combat
