(1868 1881 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised leftward facing profile of Grand Duke Friedrich of Baden, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of FR VERDIENST (FOR MERIT), within a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse engraver marked C. SCHNITZSPAHN,
