Nylon was an exciting new material (developed to replace silk during WWII, which needed to be rationed for parachute usage) in the 1950's. It provided a lightweight, easy to care for material for certain items, like jackets and dresses. This example comes in a very lightweight nylon with a light crepe texture throughout. It
